Tomato is a fruit, although it is usually used as a vegetable in salads and hot dishes.
It is rich in vitamin C, A, K, potassium and lycopene, which is a potent antioxidant and still has diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties and in addition to many other health benefits, it can prevent the development of diseases such as prostate cancer, myocardial infarction and osteoporosis.
In addition, tomato is a widely used ingredient for weight loss, since it is low in calories and rich in fiber, which helps to increase the feeling of satiety and reduce hunger.
To enjoy the benefits of tomatoes, it is recommended to consume about 3 to 4 tomatoes per day, which can provide 8 to 21 mg of lycopene per day.
The amount of lycopene varies depending on the degree of ripeness of the tomato and the way it is consumed, so that raw tomatoes can have around 30 mg/kg of lycopene, while heated tomato juice can have around 150 mg of lycopene per liter of juice.
Therefore, our recipe today becomes extremely rich in lycopene.
